Best Buds

Sage had an extra play-date with her buddy, Claire, for a few hours on Saturday night. The two are so adorable together... and always on the go. At one point they played catch with a little soccer ball--Sage sat up in the kitchen and Claire sat inches below in our drop-down living room. Back-and-forth, back-and-forth. I couldn't believe that they shared as well as they did, except when they both wanted the toy cell phone. Sage ended up dragging Claire three steps towards her to take it away. Don't worry, Lauren, Claire played with it most of the rest of the night after she figured out that it opened and closed. (It must be a pretty cool toy for kids because it was a hot commodity with Joella and Conor this summer as well.)

After a messy dinner, I couldn't resist dressing them alike in matching pajamas. They desperately wanted to get over the gate!

Sage even shared her favorite book with Claire, and that says a lot because she is obsessed with her "Goodnight, Baby" book right now!

"I love you, Claire."

Contagious

Ross and I spent our first night away from Sage, in Galena, over Labor Day weekend. We dropped Sage off at Grandma and Opa's on our way. We stayed at a Bed and Breakfast-type place and it was such a gorgeous day to shop. However, at about 3am the next morning, I got what I thought was food poisoning and threw up for the next four hours. I've never felt so miserable in my entire life. Ross nursed me back to health and took care of Sage in the meantime. It took a good 48 hours to even get out of bed and try to eat something.

I said I thought it was food poisoning, because then on Tuesday, Lauren called me in the middle of the day while I was home sick and said she was home with the flu. Claire had even been sick as well. :( Within the hour, my mom called and told me that she had started getting sick, too! At that point I was convinced I had the flu and not food poisoning and it was only a matter of time before Ross and Sage would be in the same boat. Thankfully Sage has escaped it all, but Ross didn't and he had to miss two days of work.

Hopefully we are not contagious anymore with the flu, but Sage's laugh continues to be contagious on a daily basis! If this video doesn't make you laugh, I don't know what will!! Enjoy our little bundle of joy. :) :)

More Peas, Please!

You have probably noticed from past posts that Sage isn't exactly a picky eater. She gobbles up everything on her tray as soon as it is placed in front of her. I didn't get the camera until she was almost finished with her third helping of peas and carrots. This is the reaction we get when she runs out of food after about ten seconds and she gets "angry" (and yes, that is about as angry as she gets). Sage could eat all day if we would let her!! :)
