We're back!

Here's a sneak peek from our first trip to Europe. We had a blast visiting Brian and Kate in Madrid and then traveling north to Norway with our friend, Banga, along as well. We wrapped up our trip back in southern Spain, in the town of Seville. I can't believe how much we fit into a short ten days. Brian and Kate were awesome hosts and it was really difficult to leave them back in Spain. Thanks for an awesome trip, you two! Where to next? :)

Bubbles

Let me start out by saying that these are not the best pictures... but Uncle Lucas would give us a hard time if we didn't post again soon. With three days left of school, I can hardly wait to spend the summer outside with Sage. She has discovered that she can "hide" her bubbles on the shelf inside the grill. I bought the bubbles in the dollar bin at Target, got home, and found that there isn't even a wand inside! So, for now, Sage just enjoys carrying around her container of bubbles. Who wouldn't ?

Dad, don't even think of taking away my bubbles!

Her bubbles go everywhere with her in the backyard. She even tries to drink them, to no avail, but she's thrilled to just hold them, nonetheless. It's the simple things in life with a 19-month-old.

I must also post about a major accomplishment in our house over the past couple of weeks. Sage actually lets me do her hair these days without immediately pulling it out. She always looks cute going to daycare, but Lisa says that by the end of her first nap time, our efforts in the morning were useless. She looks like a shaggy puppy most days when I pick her up. :)

Miss Independent

Sage is becoming quite independent these days. I created a make-shift fort for her in the corner of our family room after work today. By dinner time she was holding a little tea party for herself and her friend, Bear. I kid-you-not, I found her like this...

After her pre-dinner tea party, she decided she was ready for a real meal, so she hopped up on my lap and insisted that she try corn on the cob. Notice she had to brace herself on the table to get the hang of it at first...

It didn't take long for Sage to want to try it by herself...

I think she'll be an avid sweet corn consumer, like the rest of us, in the coming months. :)

Down on the Farm

We were back in CR for part of the weekend and Sage had a blast romping around at Grandma and Opa's. She didn't think much of the chickens at first, but then seemed to warm up to them. She LOVES being outside--so much that she always wants to wear a coat (and it must be zipped up) because she has equated wearing a coat to playing outside. Sage throws a fit when we finally take it off her to put her in the bath or go to bed. If it ever warms up around here, maybe we'll have a better chance of getting her outside without needing her coat. :)

Super Sage

We are currently in that awkward phase of transitioning from two naps to one nap every day. On the weekend, we generally end up with one, because this is how the first nap goes. :) (However, today at daycare, she took a five hour nap... maybe if she would sleep through the night, she wouldn't be sooooo tired--teething stinks!)

Sage also continues to be quite the eater; contrary to her BFF, Claire. Here Sage is trying to catch Claire up to speed.

Aside from the merry-go-round salad spinner, the entire Tupperware cupboard, our Bosu ball, and her new golf clubs from Grandpa, Sage can be entertained for great periods of time just climbing around like a monkey. Don't mind the pant-less Wonder; it's hard to keep her clothes on her these days.

Gotta love her... :)
